New DA account

I've made a new DA account, using the user-name I've recently been using on online games.

:iconazure-scorch:

The majority of the images in this gallery will remain here and will not be uploaded to my new account. With this fresh start I plan to submit more work, even if it's just art-study sketches. There will be no fanart from popular fandoms as it draws in unwanted "OMFGZ THAT'S AWESOME ^______^" behavior (in other words no sonic artwork, ever).

I'll still be checking this account daily for another week or two.

:) That is all.

~Everruler is taking commissions if any one is interested.
Plugging just cos I can. There aren't any set prices and I personally do think his pencil work is wonderful, so check out his gallery if nothing else.

I might be changing accounts soon, I'll post a image about it and make it my featured when I do, along with changing my icon to state this account is inactive. So you'll know when I've gone.
There's a few reasons for leaving this account really.
Bored of my inbox being filled with comments and favs about 2 year old sonic art (but I'd rather not remove it),
Wanting to simply ditch this screen name, and other things.
Page-views don't concern me either.

I fail at art and it's annoying me to no end. I've been doing nothing but art studies of the human face and skull these last few months and I'm barely progressing at all. It's quite, quite frustrating. I'm starting to wonder if there's any point in trying to continue. Oh well, whatever.

Art

Yeah I keep updating this thing and not uploading any art. Sorry about that.

I've been doing more art related studies lately and I've been doing lots of reading regarding fine art. I've gone back to basics now and I'm focusing and drawing simple geometric shapes. Hopefully this will further my understanding of shapes and perspectives.

I've still got the odd art trade I need to finish off from a while back, so I should be uploading those at some point. But all in all I'll be pretty inactive when it comes to submitting work.

Well I replied to that guy with my email. I didn't think I was too helpful but there ya go.

Anyway here is what I sent him, I figure I'd post it here incase any n00blets find it useful.

Hi ya,

Well I'm self taught and I kind of gave up wanting to get into the industry a while ago, thus why I switched to blender. If you plan on getting into the industry I'd strongly recommend sticking with Maya.

Well... I don't really have any real advice to offer sadly. I was using 3D max at first and the '3D studio max Bible' really helped. But I think the best learning resource out there has got to be Video Tutorials.
[link] has some good ones for free, though you have to sign up. I'm sure there's plenty of other videos tutorials out there that could prove very useful.
Something I've heard many 3D artists talk about is traditional art skills and how they reflect on your 3D abilities. I've noticed this myself, the better I get at 3D the better I get at art in general and visa-versa. In fact I've seen good artists go to a 3D class and create stuff as good as mine in a freakishly short amount of time. While at the same time I've seen the opposite happen. People who neglect traditional art completely and end up not improving at 3D what so ever, even after 3 years.

I'm sorry I don't have any truly useful advice but it's just a hobby for me. I never finished college and I have no career to speak of. It's just something productive I do to pass the time.

Good luck!
